Older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) have poor prognosis and limited treatment options. The communication among clinicians, researchers, patients, and their families surrounding end-of-life decisions, underscores the importance of involving patients in conversations about their care preferences early in the course of treatment.
Nana ETS is a patient organization that will made every effort to disseminate the existence of this project, to share knowledge and to improve dialogue between patient support groups, researchers, healthcare providers, policy makers, industry, citizens and experts in ethics and legal field.
As many times as necessary and at least twice a year, Nana ETS will meet with the patient association and the clinician and scientist involved in this study to discuss and the project progress and ask their opinions.
Patient association’s representatives carefully considered the section of the project dedicated to patients and have rated it positively, stating that the writing is clear and easy to understand.
